Inspired by the 2025 NABSA Conference

The 2025 North American Bikeshare and Scootershare Association (NABSA) Conference took place in Montréal in October, and I left feeling like I was bursting with inspiration.

A few of my conference highlights included:

❤️ Using one of BIXI's new bike share trailers to bring my luggage from the train station to my hotel by bike, and then getting to ride around on Montréal's impressive cycling network for a few days.

📣 Speaking on a panel about advocacy and having a great discussion with fellow panelists Magali Brebonne (Vélo Québec), Caron Whitaker (League of American Bicyclists), and Nick Russo (Pedal Movement) and moderator Shannon MacLeod (NABSA).

🔋 Learning more about lithium ion battery safety, equity access programs, and making multimodal connections through conference presentations.

🚲 Visiting the Jardin du Petit monde à bicyclette (a children's traffic garden) with Magali and Vélo Québec and learning more about how it came to be. The site includes a shipping container of bicycles that are available for families and daycares to use for practicing cycling skills.

🔧 Peeking behind the scenes with the BIXI-Montréal warehouse tour. It was incredible to see the logistics and meet some of the people who work to keep more than 12,600 bikes (including 2,600 e-bikes) operating safely and smoothly.

🇨🇦 Connecting with shared micromobility colleagues from across the country at the conference’s first Canadian Policy Committee breakfast, which I helped organize as the Committee co-chair.

I always learn so much about shared micromobility from the amazing folks who attend the NABSA Conference, and this year was no different. I left feeling inspired and with lots of new connections and ideas to bring to current and future projects!
